This wedding at The Mackey House was a true testament to the beauty of presence and intentional storytelling. Maura and Dennis didn’t plan for rain on their Savannah wedding day. Yet somehow, the storm gave way to something better: soft skies, golden light, and a celebration filled with warmth and connection.

Their day combined refined details, joyful celebration, and deep emotional moments – starting with a private vow exchange and ending with a dance under the stars.

Getting Ready at The Alida

Maura began her day at The Alida Hotel in downtown Savannah. Surrounded by her closest friends, she shared champagne toasts, heartfelt letters, and easy laughter. Her bridal suite – bright with natural light – set a peaceful tone.

The details reflected her timeless style. A pearl necklace, modern stationery, and vintage-inspired ring tray were captured early in the day.

Private Vows and First Touch

Before the ceremony, Maura and Dennis met for a private “first touch.” They stood just around the corner from one another – hands intertwined – reading the vows they wrote just for each other.

This pause before the celebration was quiet, emotional, and one of the most moving moments of the day.

Outdoor Ceremony: A Garden Wedding at The Mackey House

The Mackey House garden ceremony unfolded beneath oak trees and draped Spanish moss. Rows of white chairs lined the aisle. Garden florals added softness to the already beautiful landscape.

As Maura walked down the aisle, the air felt still. Each moment was intentional. Every expression real. Their ceremony was rooted in connection, witnessed by the people who mattered most.

Reception Celebration: Dance, Light, and Storytelling

The tented reception overflowed with joy. Guests dined under glowing string lights, surrounded by florals and laughter. Every toast reflected the deep love Maura and Dennis inspire.

Later, the dance floor stayed full until the very end. Their final private dance, just before the night ended, was quiet and full of grace.
