Your wedding invitation suite was the first glimpse your guests got of your wedding. It told them the vibe, the style, and the love story — before anyone ever set foot in a venue. Because of that, I photograph wedding invitation suites on every single wedding morning, and here is why I think yours matters so much.
Your Wedding Invitation Suite Tells the Story First
Think about everything that went into your suite. The paper weight, the calligraphy style, and the envelope liner your stationer designed just for you — every detail was intentional. As a result, I want your gallery to reflect that care. A well-styled flat lay brings your whole wedding aesthetic together in one beautiful image.
How I Style Your Flat Lay
First, I lay your invitation suite out early in the morning before the getting-ready energy kicks in. Next, I find the best soft window light in the room. Then I add your rings, a small bloom from your bouquet, or a personal accessory that feels like you. Overall, I keep the styling simple and authentic, because the goal is an image that feels real — not like a stock photo.
What I Include
I love working with the full suite. In addition to your main invitation, I incorporate your details card, your RSVP, your save the date, and your vow booklets. Together they tell a much richer story. Ultimately, the more pieces you bring, the more beautiful the final image will be.
Every Wedding Invitation Suite Is Different
No two suites look the same, and honestly, that is one of my favorite things about this part of the day. For example, I have photographed bold orange patterned suites, classic navy calligraphy, and gold foil on deckled edge paper. I have also captured bright watercolor florals and modern minimal designs. In every case, each suite gets the same care and attention from me.
Are you planning a Washington DC or Baltimore wedding? If so, bring your full wedding invitation suite to your getting-ready location. I would love to make something beautiful with it!
