As a Charleston Brand Photographer, few things excite me more than seeing a creative vision come to life — from concept to final image. Photographing Andrea Serrano for Charleston Women Magazine’s Fall 2025 “My Favorite Room” feature was a dream project. Artistry, storytelling, and style aligned beautifully.
Setting the Scene
This feature highlights Andrea’s newly renovated James Island home and her stunning Style Lounge – described by Charleston Women as “part closet, part art installation, part creative sanctuary.”
From the moment I arrived, the space radiated personality: bold textures, curated art, and that unmistakable energy that reflects Andrea herself. In other words, her home is a mirror of her creativity. Her influence on Charleston’s fashion scene is undeniable. The article even notes she “orchestrated” much of the city’s creative evolution.

Why This Charleston Brand Photographer Loved This Shoot
Personal Branding Meets Interior Storytelling
As a Charleston Brand Photographer, I’m passionate about capturing the intersection of brand, space, and soul. This shoot offered the chance to document a creative woman in her element – surrounded by the pieces of her life that inspire her work.
Elevated Aesthetic, Local Soul
Andrea’s journey – from Spring Street boutiques to styling icons like Janet Jackson and Jennifer Lopez – is deeply connected to Charleston’s creative heartbeat. My goal was to honor that legacy while crafting images that felt modern, editorial, and true to both her artistry and the Lowcountry environment.
A Reflection of My Own Brand Evolution
As I continue evolving my work under the Jennifer Mary Collective name, this collaboration reaffirmed my direction. Thoughtful, high-touch, and story-driven imagery should always celebrate individuality and impact.

Behind the Camera: A Charleston Brand Photographer’s Approach
Lighting & Mood
The lounge was flooded with natural light, so I embraced it – using subtle fill to enhance texture and metallic accents while keeping tones warm and true.
Storytelling Through Details
I focused on layers of meaning: a favorite gown hung delicately, a reflection caught in the mirror, and the curated corner that held decades of fashion history. These weren’t props – they were visual anchors in Andrea’s story.
Authenticity & Alignment
Andrea’s brand is bold, empowering, and stylish. Similarly, mine is authentic, vibrant, and inclusive. Together, those energies created images that feel alive and intentional – a celebration of individuality and impact.

What This Means for My Clients
For my dream clients – whether you’re an entrepreneur elevating your visual brand or a couple planning an editorial-style Charleston wedding – this session is a perfect example of what happens when artistry and collaboration meet.
